2. Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use ConnectBuddy. By using our platform, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older. We reserve the right to request proof of age and terminate accounts of users who do not meet this requirement.

Parents and guardians: Please ensure that minors do not access ConnectBuddy. We take age restrictions seriously and may report violations to appropriate authorities.

3. Account Registration

To use ConnectBuddy, you must:

Register using a valid Google account
Provide accurate and complete information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Be responsible for all activities under your account

We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or remove content at our sole discretion.

4. Platform Features

ConnectBuddy offers two main connection modes:

Connect Randomly

Random pairing with other users for text and video chat
Unrestricted Talk mode for open conversations
Connect Safely mode with enhanced reporting features
Anonymous mode with masked avatars (desktop only)

Connect Villa

Profile-based matching system
Send and receive connection requests
End-to-end encrypted messaging
Build lasting connections with compatible users

5. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

When using ConnectBuddy, you agree NOT to:

Share sexually explicit, pornographic, or obscene content
Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other users
Use the platform for illegal activities or to promote violence
Share personal information of others without consent
Impersonate others or create fake profiles
Spam, advertise, or solicit other users commercially
Attempt to hack, disrupt, or compromise platform security
Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to access the platform
Record, screenshot, or distribute content without consent
Discriminate based on race, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics
Share content that infringes on intellectual property rights
Engage in any activity that violates local, national, or international laws

6. Content and Communication

User-Generated Content: You retain ownership of content you create on ConnectBuddy. However, by using our platform, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute your content for the purpose of operating the platform.

Encrypted Messages: Messages in Connect Villa are end-to-end encrypted. We cannot access the content of your encrypted messages. However, you remain responsible for the content you send.

Random Chat: Conversations in Connect Randomly are ephemeral and not stored permanently. However, users may report inappropriate behavior, and limited metadata may be retained for safety purposes.

7. Reporting and Moderation

We take user safety seriously. If you encounter inappropriate behavior:

Use the report feature immediately to flag violations
Use the skip/next button to disconnect from uncomfortable situations
Block users who violate these terms

Consequences of Violations: Users who violate these terms may face temporary suspension, permanent ban, or reporting to law enforcement for serious violations.

Report System: We track report counts, and users with multiple credible reports will face escalating consequences including automatic account restrictions.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using ConnectBuddy, you consent to our privacy practices.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations

AS IS Service: ConnectBuddy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the platform will be error-free, secure, or always available.

User Interactions: We are not responsible for the conduct of users or the content they share. You use the platform at your own risk and should exercise caution when interacting with strangers online.

No Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, ConnectBuddy and its owners, operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.

Third-Party Links: Our platform may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of external sites.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, features, functionality, logos, and trademarks on ConnectBuddy are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

11. Camera and Microphone Access

Video chat features require camera and microphone access. By granting these permissions, you acknowledge that your video and audio will be transmitted to other users during active sessions. You can revoke these permissions at any time through your browser settings, though this will prevent you from using video features.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to ConnectBuddy at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time through the platform settings.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the platform or updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of ConnectBuddy after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of ConnectBuddy shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
